This exhibit was designed to tell the story of those first farmers and their necessary relationship to the business in town. On display were early photos of local establishments such as Skarritt Livery, the Carran sister\u2019s Millinery Shop, W. C. Petty Art Studio, Jake Gulick\u2019s Barber Shop and Walter &amp; Sons Dry Goods store.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clarkstonhistorical.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ex-2-1-drop.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"387\" height=\"277\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarkstonhistorical.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ex-2-1-drop.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2072\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clarkstonhistorical.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ex-2-1-drop.png 387w, https:\/\/www.clarkstonhistorical.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/ex-2-1-drop-300x215.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 387px) 100vw, 387px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The role of the local farmer was identified in such items as an early account book kept by dairy farmer Russell Maybee and farm tools used on the Ellis family farm. Items belonging to Dr. Sutherland, the town doctor and Elizabeth Ronk, local postmistress, represented other occupations to name just a few.
