The Doctor Will See You Now:
Caring for the Clarkston Community

This display centered on the early physicians who lived and worked in this village community. The contributions of doctors Miller, Sutherland and Robertson are explored as well as the services of local midwives such as Grandma Green and her maternity home on Holcomb Road. Displays included Dr. Miller’s home desk, Dr. Robertson’s Civil War instruments and a list of twins delivered by Dr. Sutherland over a period of several decades. We even included local veterinarian Dr. A. Emery who cared for the hoof, paw, wing and tail population. After all, this was a farming community for over 100 years.
