Exhibit 30: September 2017 – June 2018

20,000 Artifacts: Endless Stories

This is the 30th exhibit since we first opened in 1999 and we thought it deserved a celebration. So we pulled out all the stops and displayed a little of everything; with a time frame to match!

It includes artifacts as diverse as Native American points and a clay pipe found on the Maybee family farm. There is even a special sweater from the Platter Box, a local teen hangout in the 1950/60s!

Did you know there was a 45 rpm record created about a local establishment? The title is “Our Last Night at the Café” by David Boise. And speaking of “last nights,” we’ve displayed the Oakland County Jail record book from 1877. Now that makes for some interesting reading. Crimes include: horse poisoning, battery, forgery, larceny, disorderly conduct and adultery. So don’t wait until it’s too late, stop by the museum and celebrate our 30th Anniversary with us!
