Clarkston Celebrates the Holidays
This exhibit was so much fun to see and we have our membership to thank for it. We borrowed from the amazing collections of local holiday collectors to pull together a wonderful exhibit. It was a celebration of Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s Day and Christmas all in one! A favorite was a large display of early 1900s Halloween items. They included a papier-mache witch on wheels and a skeleton head with holes for eyes so that candlelight could glow through them. People may think that current Halloween decorations are scary but the Victorians really knew how to put the howl in Halloween.
