An Indian Story [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

This story is about Chief Sashabaw's half-brother
Wa-me-gan. Wa-me-gan was big, strong, and brave. Danger did not frighten him.

One cold winter day while
Wa-me-gan was hunting in the forest, he met a huge bear. The bear looked very angry and mean, but Wa-me-gan was not afraid. He knew the bear would provide much meat for his family. The brave used his rifle to fire one shot at the bear. However, the shot was not enough to kill such a huge bear.
